Personally I'm a heavy user of the Notes Notebook (Journal) since I started using Lotus Notes.
For a current project I need to know: am I the only one or are there others using the Notes Notebook, too? In case you wonder what I'm talking about: the app looks like this: Please leave a comment indicating if you and/or users you know are using the Notes Notebook (Journal) or not. Thanks!

I use it. Mick 2) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I use it too, but a majority of my users do not. We do not promote this actively. It would be used more often if it could be easily synced to mobile devices. 3) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I use it everyday. Keep all sorts in there. 4) Using it
Using it all the time. It's an eProductivity variant of the vanilla Jounal, but it does the same thing. Notes of all kinds go in there. I replicate it to a server and have it available on multiple Notes-clients. 5) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I use it,my boss uses it. It's my dump for button code clips, comments, technotes, and lots of other odds and ends. It synchs in inotes, but not mobile devices (yet???? ;-) it would be great if it could synch with mobile devices.) I know then there would be at a good number of other people here that would use it then. 6) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
Yup! I use it all the time. Tips, tricks, code snippets, random bits of info. Replicated up to a server. Wish it did sync with mobile too! It's used here by a faithful few. Like Uwe, it's not promoted well here. 7) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
i have an app that will allow mobile access, but its not that great, if anyone wants it. I plan on rewriting it like the ITANA Tasks on openntf, where you can add and edit offline, but i dont know when i will get to it 8) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I use it, plus we use an app from Alan Lepofsky which copies selected email into a department Notebook for later review. 9) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I use it a lot for keeping a variety of things, I even use copies for certain projects. 10) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I use it all the time. I store all sorts of information there. I sync it with my mail file so my BlackBerry gets updates (Actions > Lotus iNotes > Synchronize Notebook.) I hope that IBM makes it sync like contacts do now (i.e. "Enable "Synchronize Notebook" on the Replication and Sync tab"). We don't actively promote using the Notebook because of this manual process for our users. 11) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
Yes, I use it too. Didn't know about the Synchronize Notebook action. We've been using Roaming to sync the notebook but there are some tricks to get that to work correctly. 12) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
No and I consider it a geek feature (only used by IT and power users). 13) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I used it for a long time, but now I prefer Nevernote (Nixnote on my Linux laptop). Rarely seen users use it to my customers. They use Nevernote or OneNote like me, more friendly, more easy to use. 14) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I do not use the Notebook application 15) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
+1 I use it a lot. Since I moved of my Blackberry, though, I miss the sync'ing of it. 16) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
Use it all the time, store all sorts in it. I replicate it to server. Used to sync with Blackberry, but no Blackberry anymore. A few of our Blackberry users use it. 17) Notes Journal
I use it myself, and some of my users have used it over the years. I worry about it's future if it won't sync to iOS devices. Sync to Blackberry is definitely one of the reasons I use it. 18) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I used to use it - now I use Evernote instead. I don't see that many users who use it. I guess it's another one of those hidden gems. 19) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I used to, but I am now using Evernote as syncs between most devices. Like the Journal I have not seen many active users of this db. It has to be advertised otherwise people do not know of its existence. 20) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I use it daily. The app might benefit from a design update. The views are not logical (olderst document highest up in the view) 21) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I use free version of Evernote. Use it mostly on my mobile and it will sync with other devices (PC). 22) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
Yes - I use it quite a bit. I sync using Mark Hughes (www.hughesconnect.com) ITANA althoughj I need to update my syncing. 23) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I use it for the same reasons mentioned above - for code snippets and "useful" bits and pieces. I sync it to the web server and so it is available to me where ever I am. Very useful and simple, however, I am thinking of migrating to Evernote. 24) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I use it too; much like the majority above, for storing a variety of information for reference. 25) Most of our customers use the free eProductivity Reference App
Hi Julian, We have a free Reference Application that replaces the standard Lotus Notes Journal/Notebook design and provides information management tools to Lotus Notes. As I mentioned, it's a free app. { Link } If people are also using eproductivity, then they can drag and drop information from Notes to the Reference app and they can use the Quick Capture/Paste features. All of this is on the Notes side. There's a good opportunity for device specific reference/memo apps. As far as synching goes, BB does it best - seamless. Other platforms vary. A few smart guys have come up with ways to sync via the web. Hope that helps. Eric 26) I need your help: are people using the Notes Notebook (Journal)?
I use it too, sync with my BlackBerry. A majority of my users do not. But i sometime advice them to use it like a personnal (& cheap) knowledge base with efficient search functionnality |
