Domino To Go for Android is coming!

Finally, Android support got more priority.

The screenies show the Domino To Go application template in the Android simulator. Basically it ran instantly, there were only minor issues to resolve. The Domino To Go core seems runs, too, but needs some more testing. We already ported a little demo App that consumes view data out of a Domino application without eny effort.

So, using Appcelerator Titanium and Domino To Go is a good choice if you need to support iOS and Android (and Blackberry 10 in the future) since you get real native Apps, with native look & feel, but based on the very same code. Cool stuff!

Yes, sure! Domino To Go is designed for offline usage, and that's true for the Android version, too.

So...how do I get started? I am ramping up to convert several of our mission critical apps using XPages to tablet/smartphone-based apps. What can you tell me about getting going with this technology?

With XPages, you're creating Web Apps. With Domino To Go, you can create native Apps for iPhone and iPad, and soon for Android.

If you want native Apps, you need a Domino To Go licence, the Domino To Go code and Appcelerator's Titanium.

If you want to build iOS Apps, you need a Mac. For Android, Windows does the job, too.
