New feature in NotesBook: editing existing Lotus Notes Journal entries on the iPhone or iPad

If you are using the Lotus Notes or iNotes Notebook (Journal), you most propably know that NotesBook brings the journal to your iPhone and iPad.

One of the most requested features was the ability to edit existing entries on the iPhone or iPad. And here it is:

It was not that easy because Lotus Notes/iNotes Notebook/Journal entries may contain a lot of stuff that cannot be edited on the iPhone or iPad: tables, formatting, images, attachments and so on. But know I believe I found a good compromise. The logic is as follows:
  • When the entry only contains plain text, go ahead and edit it.
  • When the entry contains formatting, tables and stuff like that, but no images and attachments, ask the user if it's okay to loose all formatting.
  • When the entry contains images or attachments, it cannot be edited.

Now all planned features of NotesBook 3.0 have been implemented. Now I have to test and polish a bit, then I can release the update.

And in case you don't know it already: if you want to build an App like NotesBook, you can do it with Domino To Go.
